Atlanta Falcons head coach Kevin Stefanski told reporters on Tuesday that his team is preparing for a distinct challenge in Madrid on Sunday. The focus is on stopping the Cincinnati Bengals, whose offense has been producing high volumes of points in recent weeks. This shift comes after the Falcons played in heavy rain in Florida last week, a condition that contributed to a difficult performance.

The Falcons fell 16-0 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday. Quarterback Michael Penix Jr. threw four interceptions during the contest. The Buccaneers dominated the game despite recording zero completions. Stefanski noted that the league presents different hurdles each week. He said the team does not expect the same weather-related issues to plague them in Spain.

The Bengals arrive in Madrid with momentum. Last week, quarterback Joe Burrow threw five touchdown passes and ran for a score in overtime. Cincinnati rallied to beat the Tennessee Titans 43-36. Burrow also passed for 462 yards, marking his second 400-yard game this season.

The receiving corps was equally productive. Wide receivers Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins both surpassed 100 receiving yards in the same game for the fourth time since 2021. Higgins caught 10 passes for 155 yards and two touchdowns. Chase added 11 catches for 141 yards and one score.

Stefanski described the Bengals' skill position players as outstanding. He stated that few teams in the league possess two playmakers of that caliber. He said the duo challenges defenses in multiple ways, both through game plans and individual ability.

Safety Xavier Watts said the defense views this matchup as a chance to rebound. He described last week's game as weird and said the team has a chip on its shoulder. Watts emphasized the need to limit explosive plays and disrupt the rhythm of Cincinnati's attack.

Stefanski also expressed excitement about the Falcons' offense returning to its expected form. He said the coaching staff and players are focused on improving incrementally each week. The team aims to regain its identity after the shutout in Florida.
