Charlotte will reach 81 degrees on Friday, a temperature 12 degrees higher than the historical average for the date. This mark falls three degrees below the daily record of 84 degrees set in the city's history.

The warmth follows a two-week period of stable conditions across the Carolinas. Wednesday and Thursday will mirror earlier in the week, with morning lows in the 40s and afternoon highs in the low to mid-70s. Sunlight will be abundant during these days.

Saturday brings increased cloud cover but remains dry and mild. Temperatures will hover in the 70s before sunset. By evening, the mercury will drop into the 60s, creating favorable conditions for evening activities.

Uncertainty enters the forecast for Sunday and Monday. While rain chances and cooler temperatures remain in the long-range data, their probability has decreased. Two major weather models present conflicting scenarios for the region.

One model predicts a dry spell lasting until mid-next week. The other projects widespread rain across the Carolinas by late Sunday. Because of this discrepancy, projected rain totals have been reduced in the latest updates.

The most probable outcome is dry conditions until after sunset on Sunday. However, outdoor plans later that evening may face variable conditions. Meteorologists advise monitoring for updates as the pattern clarifies.

Long-range outlooks indicate an unsettled weather pattern developing later next week. This shift is expected to continue into November, marking the end of the current calm stretch.
