The Patio Lounge in Dunedin has closed its doors and returned as The Ocean Club, a rebranding that follows a stint on Jon Taffer’s Bar Rescue. The new establishment operates from 949 Huntley Avenue, a location just off the Pinellas Trail that previously housed a business known for its outdoor seating. The venue now presents itself as a tropic patio bar, shifting its identity to include live music and a food menu centered on hot dogs. Patrons can order a Hot Dog Tower, an item that adds a vertical dimension to the dining experience.

The rebranding introduces a second indoor space called The Red Room. This section functions as a speakeasy-inspired cocktail bar, distinct from the open-air atmosphere of the main patio. Management describes The Red Room as an intimate experience that offers a different vibe while remaining part of the Ocean Club family. The shift creates a dual environment where guests can choose between the spacious outdoor area or the elevated indoor setting.

The transition follows a mixed history for the location. The property became St. Andrew’s Pub in early 2025 before changing to The Patio Lounge. While the Patio Lounge initially received positive reviews and built a following, feedback from earlier this summer suggested a decline in quality. That downward trend likely contributed to the decision to bring in the Bar Rescue team. The intervention provided new management, a fresh aesthetic, and a revised concept for the local watering hole.

The Ocean Club is currently open to the public while the television episode remains unannounced. Bar Rescue airs on Paramount+, but a specific release date for the Dunedin segment has not been set. In the interim, visitors can experience the new layout and menu in person. The venue operates from 3 pm to 2:30 am on weekdays and extends its hours to 12 pm to 2:30 am on Saturdays and Sundays. The business maintains an active presence on Instagram to share updates.
