Anthony Rivers III, 15, will be prosecuted as an adult for a shooting near Florida A&M University's Bragg Stadium that injured a dozen people over the weekend. The teen made his first court appearance on Monday, October 26, 2026, where he was charged with 11 counts of attempted second-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a delinquent.
Judge Andrew Sheeran granted a request from the Tallahassee Police Department to seal the arrest records. State Attorney Jack Campbell explained that the department is still gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses. He noted that withholding some information allows investigators to verify the truthfulness of statements. "So we can tell whether someone is being truthful with us, we hold some of [the information] back," Campbell said.
Campbell urged the public to contact Tallahassee police with any photos or video of the incident. He stated that the office has only viewed part of the available footage. "Even if you don't realize you caught something on film, even if you don't realize one of your kids or family members saw something that was relevant, we want to understand all of it. We want to get justice for this community," Campbell said.
The state attorney expressed frustration over the lack of operating surveillance cameras in the area. He attributed the gap in video capabilities to recent decisions by local leaders. "I wish I had it all on video. I think this is a real representative example of the fact that we need to recognize that surveillance, particularly in situations like this, is incredibly valuable," Campbell said.
One victim from the shooting remains in critical condition. Several children were among the injured. The investigation is ongoing, and police continue to review evidence and speak with witnesses in the Tallahassee area.
