Investors holding shares of SpaceX (NASDAQ: SPCX) are seeing immediate value gains after the company released earnings data that shattered expectations. Following the market close on Tuesday, October 20, the stock jumped approximately 8% in premarket trading on Wednesday, October 21. This sharp movement reflects a rapid shift in Wall Street sentiment, with numerous analysts significantly increasing their price targets for the aerospace and technology giant.

The primary driver for this optimism is the company's explosive growth in its artificial intelligence division. SpaceX’s Super Intelligence unit generated roughly $7.6 billion in revenue during the third quarter of 2026, marking a nearly 830% year-over-year increase. This segment has now become the largest revenue contributor for the company, overtaking traditional launch and connectivity services. Analysts point to this shift as evidence that SpaceX is successfully diversifying into high-demand tech sectors, with compute pricing supporting payback periods of less than a year and potentially as short as six months.

Financial performance across the board was robust, with total revenue reaching $14.6 billion, a 161% jump from the previous year. This figure comfortably exceeded consensus estimates, which had hovered near $12.7 billion. The company also swung to profitability, posting a net profit of $4.4 billion compared to a loss in the prior year period. Adjusted EBITDA climbed to $8.8 billion, signaling improved operational efficiency despite heavy investment cycles.

Forward-looking guidance further fueled the rally. During the earnings call, CEO Elon Musk and CFO Bret Johnsen outlined first-quarter 2027 revenue projections of $33 billion to $37 billion, far surpassing the roughly $22 billion modeled by analysts. To support this growth, management plans to deploy $35 billion to $40 billion in capital expenditures for the fourth quarter, focusing on AI compute infrastructure in Memphis and Southaven. The company aims to reach 2.5 to 3 gigawatts of nameplate compute capacity by the end of the year, with pathways to 13 gigawatts or more by the end of 2027.

The connectivity segment also remained a strong pillar of performance. Starlink’s consumer base expanded to 13.6 million subscribers, driving $5.2 billion in revenue for the Connectivity segment. This growth was supported by strong subscriber additions and momentum in enterprise pricing. Additionally, recent technical milestones, including Starship’s orbital success and the deployment of V3 satellites, reinforced the company’s engineering leadership. The rapid adoption of the Grok Bot and plans for further spectrum expansion were also highlighted as key growth drivers.

Wall Street responded with a wave of upward revisions. JPMorgan more than doubled its price target to $500 from $240, maintaining an Overweight rating. Cantor Fitzgerald raised its target to $345 from $246, while Barclays and Morgan Stanley both set targets at $300. Citi increased its target to $240, UBS moved to $230, and TD Cowen raised its target to $224. Other firms, including Wells Fargo and Clear Street, also adjusted their forecasts higher, citing the strong quarterly results and accelerating AI expansion.

While the elevated spending on infrastructure remains a point of focus for some observers, the consensus view has shifted toward greater conviction in SpaceX’s long-term trajectory. The company’s ability to generate cash flow from its AI and connectivity businesses while executing complex space missions has created a compelling narrative for investors. As the stock digests these new targets, the market is positioning itself for continued growth driven by hyperscaler demand and technological breakthroughs.
